Elijah Wood Explores New Zealand Once Again in Bookworm Adventure

There are no wizards or elves in the upcoming film Bookworm, but there is a hobbit. Elijah Wood is back, traversing the stunning landscapes of New Zealand in this charming new movie. The trailer for Bookworm is a delightful showcase of adventure and mystery.

The story follows Mildred, a precocious child who loves books, hunting, fishing, and all things adventurous. School is her paradise, until her absent father (played by Wood) suddenly reenters her life. Mildred is unimpressed, until he promises to take her on a quest to find evidence of a mythical panther’s existence.

Wood’s character is an illusionist, dressed in all black with quirky hats. The costume design perfectly captures the essence of a man-child desperately clinging to his youth. Despite his shortcomings, you can’t help but root for Elijah Wood’s character as he navigates the challenges of fatherhood.

Directed and co-written by Ant Timpson, Bookworm is a collaboration with Toby Harvard. The trio previously worked together on Come to Daddy, a film with a completely different tone despite also focusing on a father’s relationship with his child.

Bookworm is set to premiere in New Zealand in August, with a U.S. release date yet to be announced. Stay tuned for this exciting adventure that promises to captivate audiences with its whimsical storytelling and picturesque scenery.
