KN Energies International energy terminal operator AB KN Energies (KN or the Company) has expanded its operations by establishing a German subsidiary, KN Energies Deutschland GmbH. This subsidiary will play a crucial role in fulfilling the Company’s commitments to the German state-owned company, Deutsche Energy Terminal GmbH (DET), by providing technical operation and maintenance services for the Wilhelmshaven 2 floating LNG import terminal.

All shares in KN Energies Deutschland GmbH are owned by companies within the KN Energies group, and the subsidiary is based in Wilhelmshaven, Lower Saxony. The team at KN Energies Deutschland GmbH consists of specialists in various fields such as human resources, health, safety, environment, mechanical, electrical, and automation engineering, operations, and maintenance management. The recruitment process for team members is currently ongoing.

To ensure the smooth operation of the terminal, the German team will receive support from experienced KN Energies staff from Lithuania, who will provide training and operational expertise. KN Energies successfully secured the tender launched by DET in the spring of 2024 to provide services for the terminal. The contract with DET includes a pre-operational period leading up to the start of commercial operations, followed by a five-year technical operation and maintenance phase, with the possibility of contract extension.

This expansion into Germany signifies KN Energies’ commitment to providing high-quality services and expertise in the energy terminal sector. With the establishment of KN Energies Deutschland GmbH, the Company will be well-positioned to contribute to the efficient operation of the Wilhelmshaven 2 terminal and support Germany’s energy infrastructure.
