Nollywood’s Genoveva Umeh and Uche Montana have been nominated for the prestigious 18th edition of The Future Awards Africa Prize for acting. Umeh, a British-Nigerian actress, rose to fame for her role in Nigeria’s first Netflix original crime thriller series, Blood Sisters. She also bagged the Best Supporting Actress award at the 2024 AMVCA for her exceptional performance in the Prime Video Original, Breath of Life. On the other hand, Montana is a seasoned actress with an impressive list of films under her belt, including The Betrayed, Wedding Night Blues, A Silent Intruder, Seven, and Banana Island Ghost.
Joining them as nominees are Jblaze Onyegbile and Mike Afolarin. Onyegbile is known for his remarkable acting in the movie, House of Ga’a, and the popular series, Assistant Madams. Afolarin, a rising star in the industry, has left a mark with his roles in Netflix’s House of Ga’a and Far From Home, as well as Prime Video’s Water and Garri. Also, Kayode Ojuolape has been recognized for his outstanding performances in Leaked and Ijogbon.
