Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, a classic Tennessee Williams play, follows the wealthy Pollitt family as they come together for a birthday celebration. Ruth Wilson takes on the role of Emily Maitlis in the series. Speaking about her transformation into Maitlis, Wilson mentioned that it was challenging but fun. She worked on capturing Maitlis’s unique voice and mannerisms, something she had not done before with a real public figure.

To prepare for the role, Wilson spent time with Maitlis at the studio of her podcast and even had the opportunity to interview her. She described the experience as terrifying but ultimately rewarding. This new project showcases Wilson’s versatility as an actor and her ability to take on diverse and challenging roles.

Fans of Ruth Wilson can look forward to seeing her shine on stage in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and on screen in A Very Royal Scandal. Her dedication to her craft and willingness to take on new challenges continue to impress audiences and critics alike.
