The jugular of the Supreme

Two centuries of Supreme Court. Maybe there is no Spanish institution that has accumulated such prestige. Sunny juridical wisdom, judgment after judgment, month after month, year after year, century after century, the high Court has established case law by all respected. The village has always supported the quality of the Supreme and accepted his bench. Over two hundred years, there have been, of course, some errors, blurs between the overwhelming amount of hits.

a few days Ago the Supreme left his throat to the air after a failure hard to explain. Instead of endorsing the Court, the president of the Government jumped like a panther of Java into your jugular. I do not remember precedents of a chief Executive who has maltreated the Supreme amending a judgment through a fulminating decree-law. Maybe it would have been explainable, however, that the Government had launched the reform of a law on the confusing wording.

But it does not. Pedro Sanchez was manifested disloyalty to the television to say: “Here the boss I am and I have decided to humiliate the Supreme Court desarzonando to the magistrates of his horses legal and abofeteándoles with a decree law.” Pure populist demagogy. Unfortunate image operation. Manifest irresponsibility.

But, in addition, Pedro Sánchez, decided to weaken the prestige of the secular Supreme Court for a question masked, the more seedy and frail. To vote in their favor on the motion of censure, the secesionismo Catalan demanded, among other things, the pardon after the predictable condemnation of the Supreme their leaders imprisoned as the alleged coup. Paul Married is already in action to make it more difficult trick of Pedro Sanchez. The president of the Government he should be a Supreme weakened to argue in public opinion: “I Resolved the error of the judgment mortgage with a decree-law and now I’m going to fix the mistake of the Court to condemn the coup that I sat in Moncloa, the granting of the pardon”.

In its obsession to stay in power, Pedro Sanchez appears willing, if necessary, to cut the Supreme Court and to dismember Spain. That is the harsh reality that is already reaching large sectors of public opinion.
