US politics: Biden ends isolation and flies to beach house on the Atlantic

US President Joe Biden ended the isolation after his corona infection. Biden traveled by helicopter to his beach house in Rehoboth on the Atlantic coast on Sunday morning, accompanied by several employees, the White House said. Reporters reported that before the helicopter took off, Biden said he felt fine. The 79-year-old had tested negative for the corona virus on Saturday.

Presidential physician Kevin O’Connor certified Biden a second negative test in a row on Sunday. The president will resume public appearances and travel, the doctor’s letter released by the White House on Sunday said.

Biden treated with Covid drug

The US President had tested positive around two and a half weeks ago and was treated with the Covid drug Paxlovid. After six days, he ended his corona isolation as a result of a negative test. Then, on Saturday last week, a test was positive again for the first time, and several such results followed. President Doctor O’Connor had spoken of a “relapse” that was observed in patients treated with Paxlovid in rare cases.
