The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) has revealed the nominees for the men’s categories for the upcoming #CAFAwards24. The Awards evening is set to take place on 16 December 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco, creating a buzz of excitement among football fans.
The CAF Awards 2024 will recognize outstanding performance from January 2024 to October 2024. Among the nominees for the prestigious CAF African Player of the Year are top players like Amine Gouiri from Algeria, Chancel Mbemba from DR Congo, and Serhou Guirassy from Guinea. Last year’s finalist, Achraf Hakimi from Morocco, is also in the running for the award.
Furthermore, the list includes talented players such as Simon Adingra from Cote d’Ivoire, Soufiane Rahimi from Morocco, and Ademola Lookman from Nigeria. The competition is fierce, with players like William Troost-Ekong from Nigeria and Ronwen Williams from South Africa vying for the title.

In addition to the player categories, the CAF Coach of the Year will recognize the top-performing coaches from the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nation Côte d’Ivoire 2023. The CAF Young Player of the Year category focuses on nurturing young talent under the age of 21, with rising stars like Carlos Baleba from Cameroon and El Hadji Malick Diouf from Senegal making the list. This category aims to celebrate the potential and future of African football.
