BSB Thruxton Practice Results: Kent Leads Day One; Bridewell Close Behind

Danny Kent took the top spot in Free Practice Two at Thruxton after Yamaha dominated the opening session of British Superbikes earlier in the day, locking out the top three spots. Despite finishing in second place earlier, Kent’s FP2 time moved him to the top of the time sheets at the end of Day One. This puts him in a good position to secure his first BSB race win this weekend.

Championship leader Tommy Bridewell is also looking strong and seems poised to extend his lead over the rest of the field. Bridewell, who is competing at his home round, could work his magic and put his Honda back on top of the podium. Kyle Ryde, who finished third in the first session of the day, continued his form into the second session and ended Day One as the third fastest rider on the track. Peter Hickman of FHO Racing also had a strong showing, finishing the day in fifth place. Honda had a decent performance, with Lee Jackson in sixth place on the MasterMac Honda and Andrew Irwin in seventh on the Honda Racing UK machine. Max Cook surprised many by finishing as the top Kawasaki rider, outperforming Jason O’Halloran who finished in tenth place.

Billy McConnell also delivered a solid performance, ending the day inside the top ten with a ninth-place finish on his C&L Fairburn Properties/Look Forward Racing Honda. Overall, the competition at Thruxton is intense, and fans can expect some thrilling races over the weekend.
