Carla Bruni suffering from cancer: the star announces that she is “not in remission at all”

On October 1, 2023, the prevention campaign took place to raise awareness among women about breast cancer screening. A few days after the start of “Pink October”, ex-model Carla Bruni revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, via a video revealed on her Instagram account.

On signs, facing the camera, Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife then paraded her story. “Four years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Surgery, radiotherapy, hormonal therapy, I follow the usual path to treat this type of cancer,” she revealed and continued: “I I was lucky: my cancer was not yet aggressive. Why was this cancer not aggressive? It was because it didn’t have time to become so… Because every year? same date, I have a mammogram if I had not done this every year, I would no longer have a left breast today.

The 55-year-old star wanted to raise awareness among as many people as possible about cancer, which can be treated as soon as it is discovered. “If I’m making this post, it’s not to give you the details of my health. That repels me and I hesitated for a long time before speaking. No, if I’m making this post today it’s to give you only one message. But a fundamental message for all the women who read me: get your mammograms every year,” she explained.

A message that Carla Bruni also translated into English and Italian so that her message can be heard by everyone. “Get your mammograms. Your lives depend on it,” she wrote in the caption of her publication.

While we thought her breast cancer was behind her, that’s not the case. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Giulia’s mother made new revelations about her cancer, explaining that she is still not in remission.

“Cancer opens new doors. You can still hear the bullets whistling in your ear! And after the first shock has passed, it’s practically invigorating, even if it’s painful, worrying and distressing,” she said and added that she was not yet out of the woods. The ex-model is still continuing her treatment: “This is the case with the medications I have to take, given that I am not at all in remission,” she explained and added: “ Tamoxifen causes weight gain, which I have never experienced, hence the idea of ??reducing my number of meals.”
