Gainesway Stud Fees Update: New Rates for Breeding Season

Officials at Gainesway have announced the stud fees for four stallions after the recent Breeders’ Cup weekend. Leading freshman sire McKinzie, known for siring Grade I winners like ‘TDN Rising Star’ Chancer McPatrick and Scottish Lassie from his first crop, will stand the 2025 breeding season with a fee of $75,000. McKinzie has been a successful sire both on the track and in sales, with his yearlings fetching impressive prices.

Muth, another stallion at Gainesway, will be available for mares at an introductory fee of $35,000 LFSN. Muth was named a ‘TDN Rising Star’ after a strong victory in his first race and went on to win the GI American Pharoah Stakes. With a record of 5-2-0 from nine runs and earnings of $1,589,600, Muth is a promising young sire.

Classic winner Seize the Grey, sired by Arrogate, will have a stud fee of $30,000 LFSN. Seize the Grey showed his talent by winning the GII Pat Day Mile Stakes and the prestigious GI Preakness Stakes. With two elite-level victories under his belt, Seize the Grey is a stallion to watch in the upcoming breeding season.

‘TDN Rising Star’ Tapit Trice, a son of the legendary Tapit, will start his stud career with a fee of $20,000 LFSN. Tapit Trice, a winner of the GIII Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby and the GI Toyota Blue Grass, has shown his potential on the track. With six wins out of 13 starts and earnings of $1,873,650, Tapit Trice is a valuable addition to the Gainesway stallion roster.

These updated stud fees offer breeders the opportunity to access top-quality bloodlines and promising young sires for the upcoming breeding season. Gainesway continues to be a leading stud farm, providing breeders with access to some of the best stallions in the industry. Breeders looking to enhance their breeding programs should consider the stallions available at Gainesway for the 2025 season.
