Harvard’s Beekhuis and Brown’s Hitti Earn Ivy League Field Hockey Weekly Honors

In the latest Ivy League field hockey news, Harvard’s Lara Beekhuis and Brown’s Julia Hitti have been recognized for their outstanding performances. Beekhuis, a sophomore midfielder from Laren, Netherlands, was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals against tough opponents like No. 19 UAlbany and No. 16 UConn. She finished the weekend with four points and even scored the game-winning goal against UConn.

On the defensive side, Brown’s senior defender Julia Hitti from Ashland, Mass., received the Defensive Player of the Week honor for anchoring the Bears’ defense in a thrilling 2-1 double overtime victory against Yale.

Additionally, other players who received recognition on the Honor Roll include Lucy Adams and Katie Wimmer from Brown, Lindsey Yu from Columbia, Julia Ramsey and Georgia Kelly from Cornell, Ella Bowman and Gabriela Braceras from Dartmouth, Bronte-May Brough from Harvard, Bridget Skelly from Penn, and Beth Yeager from Princeton.

Looking back at the previous weeks, Ellie Barlow from Yale and Robyn Thompson from Princeton were recognized as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
