Iga Swiatek has reached a milestone in her career by becoming the seventh-longest-reigning WTA No. 1 player. With this achievement, she has surpassed Ashleigh Barty and now only trails legendary players like Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, Chris Evert, Martina Hingis, and Monica Seles. This week marks her 122nd week at the top spot, solidifying her position in the history of WTA rankings.

Official WTA rankings have been in place since November 3rd, 1975. The list of players with the most career weeks as WTA No. 1 includes iconic names like Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, Serena Williams, Chris Evert, Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Iga Swiatek, and Ashleigh Barty. Swiatek’s dominance at the No. 1 spot may face challenges in the upcoming fall season, especially after her withdrawal from the WTA 1000 event in Beijing due to personal reasons. World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka is on her heels and could potentially catch up to Swiatek in the rankings.

On the men’s side, Jannik Sinner celebrates his 100th week in the Top 10 of the ATP rankings, with 52 of those weeks spent in the Top 5. The 23-year-old Italian has maintained his No. 1 ranking for 16 consecutive weeks. Sinner’s lead in the ATP rankings seems secure for now, with a significant points advantage over his closest competitors.

In other rankings updates, Beatriz Haddad Maia climbs to World No. 12 after her victory in the WTA 500 event in Seoul. Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, continues her resurgence by rising to World No. 56 after a strong performance in South Korea. Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova makes a remarkable leap in the rankings, going from World No. 102 to No. 61 after winning her first WTA title in Hua Hin.

The ATP tournament week recently concluded with finals in Chengdu and Hangzhou, China. The latest ATP rankings will reflect the results of these tournaments and any changes in player standings. As the tennis season progresses, fans can expect more exciting matches and shifts in the rankings across both the WTA and ATP tours.
