Kate Middleton facing cancer: “It was a very difficult and worrying time”

The British crown is affected by the disease. A few days apart, King Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton announced that they were both suffering from cancer. While Prince William’s wife underwent mysterious abdominal surgery, she finally gave her news in a video published on March 22, 2024. It was through her publication that the mother of George, Charlotte and Louis revealed that she was suffering from cancer, the nature of which is not exactly known.

“At the time it was considered that I did not have cancer. The operation was successful. However, tests after the operation revealed that I did have cancer. The medical team therefore advised me to have preventative chemotherapy and I am now at the start of this treatment. It has of course been a huge shock and William and I have done all we can to absorb and manage it privately, for the wellbeing of our young family,” she explained.

Since the announcement of her illness, Kate Middleton has taken leave at her home at Adelaide Cottage. Now, the 42-year-old princess is undergoing preventive chemotherapy to deal with the disease. She would also have reached a milestone, as revealed by someone close to the princess in the columns of Vanity Fair.

“It was a great relief that she was tolerating the treatment and doing much better (…) It was of course a very difficult and worrying time. Everyone rallied around her: William, his parents, as well as his sister and his brother”, we learn. As for her return, “there is no rush” added this source and continued: “It will be when Catherine feels ready and she has obtained the green light from her medical team. But she will return to work 100%, that there is no doubt”. However, we know that Kate Middleton will be absent from the “Trooping the Color” ceremony, an event honoring the British sovereign which will take place on June 15.
