Northwestern chasing history on Saturday against Indiana

Northwestern is chasing history and its first NCAA tournament invitation.

A program record-setting 21st win Saturday against Indiana would take care of the first and likely do wonders for the second.

The Wildcats (20-8, 9-6 Big Ten), losers of four of six, have won 20 games in a season four times, most recently last season.

Indiana has lost five in a row since its triple-overtime victory against Penn State on Feb. 1, and has lost seven of its last eight.

Northwestern won the first meeting between the teams this season, 68-55 in Evanston on Jan. 29.

Guard Bryant McIntosh had 21 points and eight assists while the Wildcats held the Hoosiers to their season-low point total.

Indiana (15-13, 5-10) has victories against Kansas and North Carolina on its resume this season, but also has lost to Indiana-Purdue-Fort-Wayne.
