Success model is being expanded: DRM Trophy 2023 with six runs

The newly created DRM Gentleman Trophy was a complete success in the past 2022 season with twelve crews and spectacular runs. The series will be continued in the coming year and held under the name DRM Trophy at all six events as part of the German Rally Championship.

The proven concept has been revised and modified. The most important change: All R5 vehicles are entitled to start in future. The minimum age for drivers is still 40 years, the deadline is January 1, 1983. Six races are scheduled parallel to the DRM, the worst result can be dropped.

For the first time there are two ratings within the DRM Trophy. The DRM Trophy Division 1 consists of current DMSB priority drivers. These include former national title holders, European or world champions, winners of DRM special ratings and the ADAC Rallye Masters. Only R5 vehicles homologated before April 30, 2019 are permitted.

In the DRM Trophy – Division 2 drivers without priority status are eligible to start. S2000 rally cars with two-litre naturally aspirated engines and homologation before December 31, 2015 can also be used here. At the end of the season, Division 1 and Division 2 winners are honored and awarded. The person with the best points from both classes is the overall winner of the DRM Trophy 2023.

The defending champion is Dennis Rostek, who won all five runs of the DRM Gentlemen Trophy 2022. However, the Bückeburger expects much tighter results in the coming year. “I prepared very intensively for the debut season of the DRM Gentlemen Trophy, received perfect support and everything went perfectly. That will certainly not be the case at the DRM Trophy. It’s very good that you’re positioning yourself more broadly and the newer ones cars are eligible to start. I will get down to business from January 2023. The goal is clear: I want to defend my title,” said the first champion of the DRM Gentlemen Trophy.

Those interested in the DRM Trophy 2023 can register for the class until March 1, 2023.
