West Ham set to sign Mazraoui from Bayern in upcoming deal

West Ham United is on the verge of securing a deal to bring Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui to the club. The Morocco international has reached agreements with both the club and the player, although the transfer is not yet finalized.

Despite interest from Manchester United, West Ham appears to be leading the race for the 26-year-old’s signature. However, any potential deal with United would hinge on the departure of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Wan-Bissaka has rejected West Ham’s advances in favor of a move to Inter Milan, either this summer or as a free agent in 2025.

There have been discussions about a potential swap deal involving Wan-Bissaka and Denzel Dumfries, but the details are not yet advanced. Mazraoui, who featured 29 times for Bayern last season, faced competition from Joshua Kimmich at right-back and also filled in on the left side of defense.

At the international level, Mazraoui typically plays on the left for Morocco, with Achraf Hakimi occupying the right-back position. West Ham’s need for full-back reinforcements became more urgent after Ben Johnson left on a free transfer. The club has made several summer signings, including Max Kilman, Luis Guilherme, and Wes Foderingham, while also seeing players like Flynn Downes, Thilo Kehrer, Nathan Trott, and Said Benrahma depart.

As West Ham looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season, the potential addition of Mazraoui could provide valuable depth and quality in defense. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing transfer story.
