Xbox Game Pass Service Gives Players Unlimited Access To Over 100 Xbox One, Backward Compatible Xbox 360 Titles

Xbox head Phil Spencer just announced a new way for players to enjoy the games they want for an unlimited amount of time. Taking the good news to Microsoft’s Xbox Wire newsroom and blog, Spencer proudly announced Xbox Game Pass, a more affordable and enjoyable subscription service for heavy gamers who are thirsty for access to numerous titles.

On Tuesday, Spencer started the day right by introducing Xbox Games Pass via a blog post. According to him, this new gaming subscription service is made to give players unlimited access to more than 100 Xbox One and backward compatible Xbox 360 titles. The service has been revealed to be slated for launch later this spring, and it would cost $9.99 for each month.

“At Xbox, we put gamers at the center of everything we do and remain committed to giving you the freedom to play the games you want, with the friends you want, on the devices you want,” Spencer started his blog post. “Today, we’re continuing our commitment to give you more options to diversify and expand your library of games with Xbox Game Pass.”

The new subscription service is expected to attract many customers, since Xbox is working with top publishers to make this happen. Though the complete list of games that will have unlimited access via this service has yet to be released, it is already certain that titles from 2K, 505 Games, SEGA, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Warner Bros. Interactive Enterainment, Capcom, Focus Home Interactive, and Microsoft Studios, among others will be part of it.

“NBA 2K16,” “Halo 5: Guardians,” “SoulCalibur II” “LEGO Batman” and “Payday 2” are all going to be available to players at launch. Xbox promises that players will see the addition of new titles every month, just so they can have a wider selection of games to choose from.

As stated on the official page for Xbox Game Pass, players can directly download games and play them either offline or online. When it comes to perks, subscribers will get discounts for their Xbox One game purchases and add-ons. Finally, the biggest perk is for Xbox Live Gold members; they will have access to exclusive content before everyone else.

Ahead of the official launch of the new service, Xbox will be testing Xbox Game Pass with members of the Xbox Insider Program in the Alpha Preview starting this Tuesday. The Preview will contain a very limited number of titles, but it would be enough for testers to have a first look at how the interface and service work.
