SAN ANTONIO- A pair of unrelated stabbings occurred overnight sending two people to the hospital, with one suspect fleeing and another detained, San Antonio police say.

The first cutting occurred in the city’s Northwest Side around 1:30 a.m., police responded to the 7300 block of Cherrybrook Lane where they found a male stabbed in his stomach.

The man was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition.

Police are still looking for the suspect who they say fled the scene.

Investigators said witnesses at the scene where uncooperative when questioned.

About an hour later police were called to the city’s West Side around 3 a.m. in the 100 block of San Gabriel where a 32-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times after an altercation with his 16-year-old male roommate.

According to police, the roommates where having a get together when the two began arguing. At some point the 16-year-old grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the side and shoulder, police at the scene said.

The suspect then called police.

The teen was detained and police said charges are pending. 

The victim was sent to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
