Werne (dpa / lnw) – A person was seriously injured in a house fire in Werne. Four other residents were able to leave the burning house in time on Monday, as the Werne fire department announced in the evening.

A fire had previously broken out in a room in the house for an initially unknown reason. The emergency services found that there was still one person in the house and took them out of the building with serious injuries.

According to the fire department, the flames initially threatened to spread to the roof structure, but the fire was eventually brought under control quickly. The extinguishing work was completed after about two hours. A total of 30 emergency services were on site.
