Dresden (dpa / sn) – The CDU parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament has demanded border controls in the Free State in view of the increasing number of refugees. There has been a drastic increase in illegal entries for months, the parliamentary group said on Wednesday. Currently, more than 100 people per day reach Saxony on average. The initial reception facilities are almost fully utilized. In addition, there are fewer and fewer options for decentralized accommodation in the urban and rural districts.

“The federal government must act and finally implement the long-announced repatriation offensive,” emphasized CDU domestic politician Ronny Wähner. In Bavaria, the federal police are currently doing more border controls. “We as the CDU also expect that in Saxony. The aim is to curb illegal entries at the border more and thus maintain the efficiency of the asylum systems for legitimate entrants.”
