The increase is significant. This summer, between July and September, 241,500 jobs were posted on the regionsjob.com site. That is 19% more than in 2018 over the same period, reports Le Parisien.

The increase is also clear in each quarter of 2019 compared to the previous year: 5% for January-February-March and 13% for April-May-June. In addition, the number of permanent contracts increased by 22% for July-August-September 2019, and these contracts represent 75% of the offers distributed.

The first sectors concerned, public works and construction (34% of published offers), industrial engineering (32%), jobs in design offices or research and development (27%), even IT (24 %) and trade (14%).

The increase is palpable in all regions of France, first and foremost Île-de-France (39%), the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (31%) and Normandy (21%).

At the same time, the unemployment rate continues to fall gently in the second quarter, to 8.5%, despite modest growth (0.2%), while the government is betting on its unemployment insurance reform in the coming months to push it back even further.

Employment statistics have indeed been sending generally positive signals for several months, like job creations in the private sector which admittedly slowed down but increased again in the second quarter (0.3 points).
