Bruchsal (dpa / lsw) – In the Büchenau district of Bruchsal, a resident discovered 34 dead pigeons in a publicly accessible compost bin. As the police headquarters in Karlsruhe announced on Monday, according to the information available so far, the carcasses were disposed of a few days ago. The Department of Trade/Environment at the Karlsruhe Police Headquarters is investigating a violation of the Animal Welfare Act.

Apparently the pigeons had their heads and legs removed. The missing legs were probably taken because of the attached identification rings. The police are looking for witnesses.
