The polar bears are among the most popular animals in the Rostock Zoo – and not just since the birth of the twins Kaja and Skadi. With the newcomer Lili there are now five of these impressive animals in Rostock again.
Rostock (dpa/mv) – There is an addition to the Rostock Zoo: the six-year-old female polar bear Lili arrived safely from the Netherlands on Tuesday, as the zoo announced on Wednesday. In the future, she will live with Noria, who is also six years old, in a facility in the Polarium, the home of the polar bears in the zoo. Lili was born at Zoo am Meer in Bremerhaven in December 2015 and moved to Wildlands Adventure Zoo Emmen in the Netherlands in 2017.
“However, Lili will still need some time to get used to it and will only then be able to be seen regularly,” said zoo curator Daniela Lahn. The third polar bear lady Sizzel and her two cubs, the twins Kaja and Skadi, who were born in November, will be on the one enclosure and Noria and Lili on the other.
