TRENTON — Trenton police are investigating after a 20-year-old man was shot in the leg early Friday.

The man told police he was walking in the area of 800 block of Greenwood Avenue around 2:40 a.m. when he heard several gunshots and began to run. But he realized he had been hit and sat on the curb waiting for officers to arrive.

The man was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and is in stable condition, police said.

The Shooting Response Team is investigating, but no motive or suspect has been identified.

The shooting Jestbahis comes less than two days after 53-year-old Michael Brancolino Jr. was shot and killed at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Hudson Street. Investigators’ initial theories are that he was not the target of the shooting.

A few hours later, shots rang out two blocks away, but nobody was hit, police said.
