María Jesús and José are the owners of the Bámbola restaurant, located in Málaga. His business was the scene of the delivery of A Nightmare in the Kitchen issued last Thursday, January 19. Months later, the couple has spoken about their experience in the La Sexta format with the ‘youtuber’ Pablo Cabezali, from the Cenado con Pablo channel.

The owners shared details of the program and made it clear that they went through difficult moments during the six days of filming: “We had a great time. The recording was really hard. Apart from the hours, it was the pressure… We had such a bad time that we regret it What happens is that we had signed a contract”.

Both explained that the production team has a psychologist, who spoke to each of them separately: “He took out oil. The crap drawer opened it well. Not from the kitchen, but from private life, don’t see what he took out “.

María Jesús pointed out that in the space of La Sexta things are exaggerated: “When I have work, I am nervous, but not in that way. I don’t break dishes.” Her husband added: “I invite you to come one day to see me work, to see if I’m the one who appears in A Nightmare in the Kitchen. It’s all a bit scripted.”

José revealed that he was forced to go out for a smoke in his episode. The owner stated: “Sure, you have to have your show. We knew what we were doing.”

Later, he shared his opinion about Alberto Chicote: “He is not like he appears on TV, nor is he nice. He is a normal person who acts, who plays a role. What you see is a role, it is not Chicote.”

María Jesús and José commented that appearing in Pesadilla en la cocina helped their restaurant receive more customers and increase billing: “The phone fell apart with the reservations. People keep coming.”

The owner confessed: “Alberto Chicote did not help me, advertising helped me, going on TV… I would repeat because that advertising is priceless.” In addition, the hoteliers assured that some people recognize them on the street.

On the other hand, they indicated that the letter prepared by Chicote was “spectacular, amazing”, but not adequate for the area of Málaga where Bámbola is located: “It is a working class neighborhood”. They said that many customers asked for products from their old menu. Some came to leave the premises after taking a look at the selection that the chef had proposed to them.
