Madrid’s public transport services modify their schedules during the notable dates of Christmas 2023. And on Christmas Eve, which is celebrated this Sunday, December 24, 2023, the Madrid Metro and Cercanías networks as well as the EMT buses begin operating later and will end their usual schedules earlier. Madrid Metro reinforces services from December 2, 2023 to January 6, 2024, on the lines that usually increase their passenger demand, that is, on lines 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 on weekdays, and especially on Fridays and weekends, also including line 5.
Looking ahead to Christmas Eve, the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium (CRTM) announces the launch of special devices and schedules. In this way, on December 24 the Metro service will end at 10 p.m., so public access will be closed at 9:30 p.m. The next day, December 25, the opening of the service at all stations in the network will be delayed until 8:00 a.m.
The EMT reinforces the service offer this Christmas with the increase in the bus fleet on 20 lines that run through the central area of Madrid: lines 1, 2, 6, 20, 31, 32, 35, 50, 51, 52, 53, 74, 133, 146, 147, 148, 150, E1, 001 and M1.
