The sale of Imserso trips so far is 6% below the same period last year, due to the delay in marketing caused by the resources of competitors in the process of awarding the program, finally won by Ávoris Corporación Empresarial .

This is how the general director of Ávoris, Juan Carlos González, explained it at the III Online Congress of Travel Agents, organized by Hosteltur, in which he described this figure as “spectacular”, since “with so many resources and delays” the sale of travel has come out “a month or so later than the ideal date”.

“I have to remember that we had to put the program together in a little less than a month so as not to lose the season,” he added.

Furthermore, he stated that they will end the year with figures “above” 900,000 travelers, “reaching almost one million.” “The day we give the data you will see that it is very good with respect to the departure dates, preparation times and so on for the current contest,” she defended.

Regarding the criticism of the lack of places at Imserso, Juan Carlos González has stated that they were committed to programming “many more places from different origins”, so “it may be that some of the important capitals have fewer places, but there will also be provinces like Albacete or Cuenca that have never had more like now”.

“They already criticized us and we were going to lose all the lots in the resources, now they criticize us because the sale has gone badly and then they will criticize us again in the operation,” lamented the Ávoris manager.

In a joint statement last week, Acave, Fetave and UNAV asked for “urgent solutions” to help travel agencies respond to the “problems” in the allocation of places in the Imserso program, which began on the 26th. October, due to the fall of the Social Tourism website, the lack of places in destinations such as Andalusia, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, and the downgrade of some hotel places, according to Europa Press.

Thus, the three associations sent letters to the Secretary of State for Social Rights, Ignacio Álvarez Peralta, and to the director of the Imserso program of the Secretary of State for Social Services, Luis Alberto Barriga, in which they expressed their discomfort with the management of the this year’s program, as well as a review of it to improve the service in future calls.

In the statement, they consider that “it is essential for the successful bidder to publish the information corresponding to the marketing of the program, including information regarding compliance with the awarded programs in terms of number of travelers and hotel rooms in each of the awarded lots.” .
