Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – A pedestrian was hit by a light rail in Stuttgart and was seriously injured. The allegedly drunk 20-year-old wanted to cross a street on Sunday and missed a train on the U9 line, the police said. Although the driver initiated emergency braking, the train caught the man. Paramedics took him to a hospital.
Also on Sunday, a man was trapped under a tram in Karlsruhe and critically injured. It was initially unclear why the cyclist fell under the moving train. He was freed by the fire department and also taken to a hospital.
