Salzwedel (dpa/sa) – In an exhibition, the Altmark district of Salzwedel provides an overview of the diverse works in its artists’ and scholarship holders’ house. After the opening of the poster exhibition “StipendiatenART” on Thursday in the foyer of the district administration in Salzwedel, guests can view the art from more than two decades for an indefinite period of time. According to the information, the show is a “journey through time of the work of scholarship holders” who have previously lived and worked in the half-timbered house in the historic city center. The “StipendiatenART” series has been implemented with the Danneil Museum since 2011.

According to the district, the Salzwedel artists’ and scholarship holders’ house has been a temporary place of work for more than a hundred people since 1997. The scholarships of various genres are awarded by the state, 1000 euros are paid per month.

So far, artists from Germany, the USA, China, India, Brazil, France, Taiwan and Austria have been guests in Salzwedel. Stays in the areas of literature, music and fine arts are advertised.
