Carlos Mazón, PP candidate for the Presidency of the Valencian Community, one of the key autonomies in the perspective of a possible political turnaround in Spain, assumes that “the change” has already begun and that it will start in its autonomy. The popular candidate assures that his intention at the polls “is not to tie, but to win with a sufficient majority to govern alone”, an identical message to the one conveyed by the party leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. In this way, he avoids putting himself at the moment in the scenario of having to agree with Vox, as all the polls already anticipate. Regarding this foreseeable agreement with the formation of the radical right, Mazón prefers to leave it “in the hands of the Valencians”.

Mazón, at an informative breakfast organized by EL MUNDO, lamented that in the Valencian Community “Sánchez orders and Puig obeys” and with this all Valencians are “damaged”. In his opinion, “the elections on May 28 go beyond any other election and will mark the change in Spain”, a change that in Valencia will mean, according to the popular candidate, providing health with 30% of the total budget and massively reduce taxes for the majority of citizens who, he has promised, will see a reduction in all regional taxes.

“Valencians will be the ones who pay the least taxes in all of Spain,” he stated. From his point of view, this reduction will not imply a reduction in collection because it will be offset by the increased economic activity that will be generated. In fact, he estimates that he can increase collection by 1.5 points while reducing debt. The candidate proposes that no citizen pay in taxes more than half of what he earns because, he has said, “that is requisitioning.” “From 35,000 euros downwards, the rents in the Valencian community will be the ones that pay the least in Spain,” he promised.

Mazón has also entered the linguistic field promising that each citizen will be able to speak each language as they want and when they want. “It will be possible to choose freely without impositions and without ideological prejudices. Everyone will fit in the Valencian Community and the senyera will not have to bow down to anyone because we have our own culture and identity. We are a Spanish people, very Spanish and very Valencian”, He has continued to defend his “collaborative and cordial” proposal against the “exclusive and sectarian model” led by Puig and Sánchez. “I will apply the linguistic model with common sense and I will offer sufficient resources so that parents can choose the language in which their children study,” she insisted.

The popular leader has also explained that if he manages to reach the Valencian Presidency, he will design an Executive with a maximum of ten councils and will reduce the number of advisers by half. With this he hopes to save 208 million euros a year, the necessary budget, he has said, to finance public education from zero to three years. In total, his savings plans are close to 4,000 million euros.

For the candidate, health will be the “number one priority.” His proposal goes through a model that will accommodate the precise needs of each territory by combining, depending on efficiency, public and private management. “I will work without prejudice,” he assured.

In relation to the water problem that confronts the Levantine communities with Castilla-La Mancha, Carlos Mazón has called for “serious and rigorous studies” in relation to the ecological flow of the Tagus. “The PP, with Feijóo at the helm, will present a national water policy, which belongs to no one,” he stated.
