Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The threats from the world football association FIFA and the German Football Association’s waiver of the “One Love” captain’s armband at the World Cup in Qatar also met with incomprehension from Baden-Württemberg’s Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz (Greens). “Apparently we have the biggest shortage of skilled workers in people who have attitude,” he tweeted on Monday after several European teams decided to refrain from wearing the bandage under pressure from the threat of sanctions from the world association. It was also announced on Monday that more than 11,300 training places in the south-west remained vacant in the current apprenticeship year.

FIFA had previously banned the wearing of the multicolored and symbolic captain’s armband of several European nations and threatened the associations with sporting sanctions. As a result, the associations from Germany, Denmark, England, Wales, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands announced that their captains would not wear the “One Love” armband as planned.
