Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – At the beginning of the carnival holidays in Baden-Württemberg, many drivers had to be patient. The routes to the ski areas in particular were already heavily frequented on Saturday morning. The ADAC reported more than a dozen traffic jams on the highways in the southwest.

The Autobahn 8 was particularly affected, where a traffic jam of up to nine kilometers long had formed in the direction of Munich between the Merklingen and Leipheim junctions. In the opposite direction, traffic was blocked for a distance of up to four kilometers. According to ADAC, drivers were also stuck in traffic jams between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart for up to 40 minutes on Saturday.
