Neuenburg (dpa/lsw) – Eleven people were injured in a traffic accident near Neuenburg am Rhein (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) on Tuesday morning, five of them seriously. According to the police, a car had stopped on the state road between Neuenburg am Rhein and Bad Bellingen to turn towards Auggen. Another car came to a stop behind the car. The driver of a pickup truck drove into the cars for reasons that have not yet been clarified.
According to the police, there was a group of young people in the van. All nine occupants, aged between twelve and 22, were injured in the accident, three of them seriously. A toddler and a 31-year-old woman in the middle car were also seriously injured. The driver of the first car was unharmed. According to officials, all of the injured are not life-threatening. The highway had to be closed for several hours after the accident.
