Baden-Baden (dpa/lsw) – Fewer people visited the Baden-Württemberg casinos in Baden-Baden, Stuttgart and Constance in the first few months of the current year than before the pandemic. According to a spokesman, almost 39,000 people came to the casino in Baden-Baden in the first quarter (2019: 64,874), in Stuttgart there were almost 49,000 (2019: 71,614) and in Constance around 11,500 visitors (2019: 25,713).
However, the figures are only of limited significance, as corona restrictions were still in force at the beginning of this year. In the meantime, the numbers are at a very decent level, said Baden-Baden’s casino director Thomas Schindler.
After a record result in 2019 of around 107 million euros, the gross gaming revenue of the three casinos fell to around 63 million euros in 2020 and to almost 47 million euros last year, as a spokesman said. In the first quarter of the current year, the gross gaming revenue for the three houses was 21.2 million euros (2019: 27.5 million euros).
