Friedrichshafen (dpa / lsw) – Bundesliga volleyball club VfB Friedrichshafen has signed the Polish setter Mateusz Biernat as the first newcomer for the coming season. The 1.95 meter left-hander is moving from the Italian first division club Consar RCM Ravenna to Lake Constance, the runner-up and cup winner announced on Friday. Biernat receives a one-year contract with VfB. With his experience, the 30-year-old should relieve captain Dejan Vincic in the pass position.
On the other hand, in Stefan Thiel, another player is leaving the club with an unknown destination, the message said. The 24-year-old only came to Friedrichshafen last year.
