Fluorn-Winzeln (dpa/lsw) – Because of listeria, the Heinzelmann country butcher is recalling 125-gram packs of Lyoner cold cuts. The company, based in Fluorn-Winzeln (Rottweil district), announced on Friday that products with a best-before date of September 3, 2022 to September 10, 2022 are affected. The sausage was sold almost exclusively in Baden-Württemberg in Edeka, Rewe and Kaufland markets.

The Listeria monocytogenes detected during self-checks could cause listeriosis, it said. Symptoms ranging from gastrointestinal complaints to conjunctivitis and sepsis to miscarriages in pregnant women could be triggered in people with immunodeficiency. Infection usually occurs without symptoms. Anyone who has eaten the sausage with the specified best-before date and has symptoms should see a doctor immediately.
