Whether in nursing or in administration: for thousands of employees at university clinics in the south-west, it is about more money from Tuesday. The Verdi union is demanding a double-digit increase in wages.

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Negotiations on a new collective agreement for around 26,000 employees at university hospitals in the southwest start today. The Verdi union is demanding, among other things, 10.5 percent more money for the nursing or administrative staff at the university hospitals in Heidelberg, Tübingen, Freiburg and Ulm, but at least 375 euros per month over a period of 12 months. Verdi demands 200 euros per month for trainees.

At the start of the negotiations in Stuttgart-Möhringen, training psychotherapists who are on strike are also expected. They demand a higher classification. The negotiations are about employees whose employment is covered by the Uniklinika Baden-Württemberg collective agreement. Doctors or scientific staff fall under other collective agreements.
