Metten (dpa / lby) – In the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf, a body has been recovered from the Danube. Water rescue and water police rescued the dead person near Metten, a police spokesman confirmed on Thursday. The “Straubinger Tagblatt” had previously reported on the operation on Wednesday evening. Police are also investigating a link to a swimming accident earlier in the week. A 44-year-old man disappeared on Monday after swimming in the Danube. The identity of the now recovered person and the cause of death were initially unknown.
