Regensburg (dpa / lby) – A scooter in the Danube triggered a rescue operation in Regensburg. In the search for the associated people, a police helicopter and lifeboats were initially used, as the police announced on Thursday. The search was stopped after about an hour because there was no evidence of a person in the water. “It can be assumed that the scooter was willfully sunk in the Danube,” it said. It later emerged that the scooter recovered by the fire department had just been stolen from a parking lot. A passer-by discovered the scooter with the light still on on Wednesday evening in the Danube.
