Munich (dpa / lby) – TSV 1860 Munich has signed Christopher Lannert from SC Verl for the coming season. The 23-year-old right-back played for the third division soccer team as a youth. “Christopher was one of the most reliable players with top statistics in his position in the third division last season,” said managing director Günther Gorenzel in a club statement on Thursday. “Because of his individually strong performances, he was also on the list at higher-class clubs.”
Lannert had completed 65 games for Verl in the 3rd division. “I grew up near Grünwalder Strasse and was allowed to take my first steps as a footballer with the lions,” said Lannert. “Now I’ve come full circle and I’m incredibly proud to be wearing the Lions shirt again.” The Munich company did not provide any details on the contract.
