For its part, Maritime Rescue has explained that it was this Friday afternoon when the irregular vessels were sighted, the furthest being about 77 miles from El Hierro.

In this way, the Maritime Rescue center in Tenerife mobilized the Calíope sea guard, the Adhara sea guard, the Río Tajo patrol boat of the Civil Guard and the Sasemar 101 plane, which were locating the canoes.
