A 27-year-old man was shot dead in a shisha bar in the Hohenfelde district of Hamburg. The man was a guest in the bar on Lübecker Strasse late Wednesday evening when two suspects approached him shortly after 11 p.m., one of whom fired several shots at him, the police in the Hanseatic city said on Thursday . Both escaped undetected.

The 27-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he died. The police launched a manhunt, initially without success. A homicide commission took over the investigation. The background to the crime is still unclear on Thursday. However, the investigators suspect a previous relationship between the parties involved.

The two strangers are said to have been about 1.70 to 1.80 meters tall. At the time of the crime they were wearing black tracksuit tops, dark pants and black hats.
