Thirteen spots in the 2025 EuroBasket remain available with 21 countries competing in February. Recent international basketball action saw seven national teams secure a place in the tournament. Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, and Turkey will be joining the competition alongside the co-hosts Cyprus, Finland, Latvia, and Poland.

The upcoming FIBA international window, starting on February 20, will determine the final 13 countries to participate in next summer’s EuroBasket. With the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season having a three-week break in February, more players are expected to become available for their national teams.

Looking ahead to the February window, Eurohoops provides insights into the remaining options for the 21 countries vying for a spot in the EuroBasket.

In Group A, Portugal is on track to make its first EuroBasket appearance since 2011. They need a win against either Israel or Ukraine to secure their place. Ukraine, on the other hand, must defeat Slovenia and Portugal to have a chance, as well as earn the tiebreaker advantage over Portugal.

Group B sees Iceland in a similar situation to Portugal, needing a win against Turkey or Italy to secure their spot. Hungary, however, needs two wins and the tiebreaker against Iceland to advance.

Belgium in Group C needs to beat Slovakia or secure a five-point win to progress. Slovakia, aiming for their first major international tournament appearance, must win against Belgium and Latvia while hoping Belgium falls to Spain.

Montenegro leads Group D but has not yet clinched a berth. The upcoming games will have significant implications, especially if Germany can defeat Montenegro by a large margin.

France in Group E only needs one win in February to qualify for the EuroBasket. Meanwhile, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia are tied at 2-2 and are looking to secure their spots, potentially at the expense of France.

Greece leads Group F but needs more work to qualify. The Netherlands, Czechia, and Great Britain are also in contention for the remaining spots.

Georgia in Group G can advance with a home win against Denmark. Denmark, seeking their first EuroBasket berth since 1955, must win against Georgia and Finland to have a chance.

In Group H, Estonia has a two-game advantage and can progress with a win over North Macedonia. North Macedonia, on the other hand, needs to beat Estonia and Poland while hoping Lithuania defeats Estonia.

The 2025 EuroBasket will take place between August 27 and September 14, with the qualified teams divided into four groups to be played in different cities. The top four seeds from each group will advance to the knockout stage. Stay tuned for more Eurobasket action and watch the games on your local television providers or stream them online.
