San Sebastián firefighters have rescued users of the Ferris wheel located in the Alderdi Eder in the capital of Gipuzkoa, after the facility suffered a breakdown around seven in the afternoon this Thursday, leaving about 90 people suspended in the air. They occupied the 24 cabins of the attraction.
According to municipal sources, the incident occurred around seven in the afternoon, during rush hour on the 32-meter-high Ferris wheel, which had all its cabins occupied. Those responsible for it have tried to fix the fault for an hour, without success.
After that time they have notified the firefighters, who after verifying that the operation of the facility could not be resumed either, have decided to rescue little by little, through two stops, all the trapped users.
Around nine o’clock at night the firefighters had already rescued personnel occupying ten cabins out of the 24, and they continue to evict more clients, who are “calm”, without any personal injuries.
