Kassel/Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) – After almost 20 years, the manga fair Connichi will move from Kassel to Wiesbaden. In September 2023, the event will take place in the RheinMain CongressCenter, as announced by Connichi spokeswoman Stephanie Drewing on Monday. “We’ve reached our limit over the past few years.” According to Drewing, many visitors stood in line for several hours for a workshop. After years of searching, the volunteer organizers decided on Wiesbaden because the congress center in the state capital offers more space and design options.

Since 2003, the scene meeting about manga, Japanese comics, and Japanese pop culture has taken place in Kassel with around 27,000 visitors. The 2020 and 2021 fairs were canceled due to the corona pandemic.
