Offenbach (dpa / lhe) – Ersan Parlatan will be the new coach at the regional soccer team Kickers Offenbach. The club announced this on Wednesday. The 45-year-old will succeed Alexander Schmidt, who was sacked in September, and interim coach Alfred Kaminski. “I’m really looking forward to taking over this ambitious traditional club as head coach. The fans are unique and the team now exudes a stability that I want to maintain,” said Parlatan in a statement from the club.
Parlatan was most recently assistant coach at second division club 1. FC Nürnberg, where head coach Robert Klauß was released at the beginning of October. The short-term developments at the “Club” have given rise to the possibility of signing Parlatan, said OFC Managing Director Matthias Georg. “We have found a top solution and a regional league south-west expert for the OFC.”
Parlatan previously trained Offenbach’s league rival TSV Steinbach. At the Kickers he wants to continue the work of Kaminski, under whom the Hessians recently took seven points from three games. “It’s about starting there and improving the subtleties and not upsetting everything in the middle of the league,” emphasized Parlatan. The Kickers are currently sixth in the table.
