Lorsch (dpa/lhe) – A fire broke out in a camp site in Lorsch early on Sunday morning. According to the police, buckets of paint stored on the premises caught fire. In the meantime, the fire had spread to parked storage containers, a living container and a parked tractor. There were no people in the residential container in the “Im Daubhart” area at the time of the fire. The deployment of the fire brigade and police has now ended.

A warning to residents to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke has been lifted. The property damage amounts to an amount in the lower six-figure range. According to the police, arson cannot be ruled out at the moment, as there have been three fires on the site in the past few months.
