Khaleda Zia, the Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is all set to be taken abroad for medical treatment. According to BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, preparations have been completed for her journey. This includes processing visas for her entourage, which includes seven physicians forming a medical board for her treatment.

If Khaleda Zia’s physical condition remains stable, she will be transported to London via a specialized air ambulance on November 8. From there, she may be taken to a multidisciplinary health center in the USA or Germany for a liver transplant based on the recommendations of specialist doctors. Amir Khasru mentioned that several hospitals in London have already been contacted for her treatment.

The entourage accompanying Khaleda Zia will consist of a total of 16 people, including physicians and nurses. The exact date of her departure may vary depending on the availability of the air ambulance. Salauddin Ahmed, another member of the BNP Standing Committee, confirmed that she will be traveling by an air ambulance equipped with all necessary medical facilities.

Khaleda Zia, who is 79 years old, has been battling various health issues such as liver cirrhosis, heart, lung, kidney, and eye diseases, arthritis, and diabetes. She has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital city under the supervision of a medical board.

The decision to take Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment highlights the seriousness of her medical condition and the need for specialized care. It also sheds light on the challenges faced by individuals in accessing advanced medical treatments in Bangladesh. The support provided by the medical team accompanying her reflects the importance of ensuring her well-being during this critical time.

As Khaleda Zia embarks on this journey for medical treatment, it serves as a reminder of the significance of timely and appropriate healthcare interventions for individuals facing complex health challenges. The hope is that she will receive the necessary care and expertise required to address her health issues effectively and improve her overall well-being.
