Neubrandenburg (dpa/mv) – The police in Neubrandenburg caught a car speeding at 150 kilometers per hour at the permitted speed of 60. A police spokeswoman said on Tuesday that a patrol car crew saw the 21-year-old driver’s car driving out of town in the north of the city early in the morning. The officials followed for a long time and found that the Neubrandenburger overtook illegally and was doing up to 150 kilometers per hour. The man drove a sporty rental car with more than 500 hp.
He had no explanation for this when he was stopped and asked about it, as a spokeswoman said. The driver was able to drive again after the check, but had to reckon with a fine of 560 euros, two points in the Flensburg traffic offender file and a two-month driving ban. The police also hopes that witnesses will report who were overtaken by the conspicuous car or who saw the whole thing.
