Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Chambers of crafts see jobs in danger

Schwerin (dpa/mv) – From the point of view of the chambers of crafts (HWK) in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the high energy prices are threatening jobs and training positions, especially in rural areas. “The trade is reaching its breaking point and there are companies in acute need. The Chambers of Crafts are extremely concerned that insolvencies can no longer be stopped due to the exploding energy costs,” shared the Presidents of the HWK for East Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schwerin, Axel Hochschild and Uwe Lange , in a joint statement on Monday. This does not only affect companies with high energy consumption.

According to the trade representatives, the previous relief packages are bypassing the industry. Hochschild and Lange fear irreparable economic damage, so they are demanding immediate relief for the trades from politicians.
